JUST BELIEVE IN YOURSELF
Like I did today..............
A little about me, I run a Self Employed One Person Business which involves creating Handsculpted Flower Jewellery & Hair Accessories for all occassions
Today was the day when I came across a bit of an annoying blip to say the least
After spending much of my day yesterday creating a Rose & Net Fascinator with Rhinestone Beads that were purchased as Self Adhesive along with lovely Red & White South Sea Shell Pearl Beads, I thought my creation was complete......
LITTLE DID I KNOW THAT THE NEXT DAY HAD A SURPRISE FOR ME..........
I'm pretty much a perfectionist with my work because I want it to be perfect for my customers and take pride in what I do, so after my daily morning ritual I decided to take a look at my creation (maybe in the hope it didn't walk away in the night, who knows)
Well........when I picked the fascinator up, low and behold I heard a PING, followed by yet another PING, what the........?????
And there they were my mini diamante Rhinestone Beads sat on the table instead of the netting where they were supposed to be :-0
Needless to say Self Adhesive Rhinestone Beads are no longer my friend, ha, ha
I must admit there was a little bit of a panic where I frantically tried pressing these little BEEPS back onto the netting, but sadly they were just not having it.
Sooooooo I decided I would get the Superglue out.....
BIG MISTAKE.......
Instead of glueing the Rhinestones back onto the netting I ended up not only glueing my fingers to the netting but leaving blobs where the glue had decided to go on its own little journey downwards :-(
I had that internal feeling where I just wanted to have a mini tandrum like children do and sob, but you'll be happy to know I didn't :-)
After a little shuffle around in my blingy and bobbly materials, the thought of sewing beads onto the edges came to mind but was swiftly pushed aside, I believed it would have weighed the netting down
So I pulled out my stock of Colourful Glitter Glue's in an array of beautiful colours, Red & Clear Glitter were chosen in the hope of improving my earlier blip
To start this project I had to be brutal and snip away strands to take away the beads that did stick with the superglue
Back to a blank canvas again
Now for the Glitter.....
Yes I was a little dubious, but determined to make something of this lovely Rose Fascinator
I had an idea in my head and gave it a go in the hope it would work.....
Here I am adding the Clear & Red Glitter to the rims of the netting, using my polystyrene model who I have named Polyanna ;-) to keep the fascinator in place
Hmmmmmmm I thought, yes the glitter rim has really improved but needs just something more......
A few dabs within the netting later I had completed my new updated Fascinator
I have to admit I like it better with the glitter then I did with the Rhinestones, maybe it was just meant to be.......
I also partake in modelling my own work :-)
The moral to this story is to believe in yourself
If you really want to do something, with determination and maybe just a little bit of stubborness you will :-)
